The Corps
Swift and Sure
The Royal Australian Corps of Signals, further referred to as “the Corps”, is a highly technical Corps with a significant remit for the provision of Command Support systems that span from tactical HF, VHF and UHF radio networks, deployable operational and strategic networks, to specialised electronic warfare and cyber security effects.
In order to effectively provide C2 systems and command support to the Combat Brigades in Brisbane, Townsville and Darwin, Command Elements of the 1st and 2nd Divisions, the Logistics and Sustainment brigades, and Telecommunications training, the Corps has units based all across Australia.
The Corps currently has six Signals Regiments, five Regular Army and one Army Reserve. In addition, the Corps has a number of independent Signals Squadrons that support Special Operations, 17 Sustainment Brigade and the Army Reserve Brigades.

More importantly than locations, the Corps could not achieve it’s mission without it’s highly technical and highly skilled workforce.
The Corps consists of one officer pathway responsible for the leadership and management of specialised teams, and five other rank or soldier pathways that each have a highly specialised and niche skill set. When task organised, all trades contribute to the provision of assured communications that link front line soldiers on the tactical edge to strategic commanders in the Joint Force.
